The Canine Coach offers a variety of pet training services including basic obedience training and advanced obedience training - both offered on and off leash.

Our trainers at The Canine Coach have a diverse background in pet training, having worked with various breeds and temperaments. A board and train is a comprehensive dog training program where a dog stays with a professional trainer for the specified period.

Depending on which package you choose, training can be anywhere from two weeks to four weeks. All of these packages are board and trains.

We ask that you bring enough food for the duration of your pups stay, along with their collar, that's it!

A pinch collar, also known as a prong collar, is a training collar designed to provide more control over a dog during walks or training sessions. It consists of a series of linked metal prongs that tighten around the dog's neck when pressure is applied. The idea is to mimic the natural correction a mother dog provides to her puppies.

When used properly and under the guidance of a knowledgeable trainer, a pinch collar can be considered safe for dog training. Here are a few reasons why:

1. Limited Pressure: The pressure applied by a pinch collar is evenly distributed, avoiding excessive force on one specific point on the neck.
2. Quick Release: Modern pinch collars are designed to release pressure immediately when the tension is released, preventing prolonged discomfort for the dog.
3. Effective Communication: Some trainers find pinch collars effective for communicating with larger or more powerful dogs, as the collar provides clear feedback without the need for excessive force.
4. Reduced Risk of Injury: Unlike choke collars, which can pose a higher risk of injury, pinch collars are designed to minimize the risk of causing harm to the dog's trachea.

However, it's crucial to note that the effectiveness and safety of a pinch collar depend significantly on proper usage. It should be fitted correctly, used for training purposes only, and under the guidance of a professional dog trainer. Like any training tool, individual dogs may respond differently. If in doubt, consulting with a veterinarian or professional dog trainer is advisable to ensure the well-being of the dog.

We utilize e-collars only  when deemed necessary. Our approach to training prioritizes positive reinforcement and understanding the individual needs of each pet. E-collars are considered as a tool in specific situations where it can contribute to the overall well-being and effectiveness of the training process.

We provide updates regularly, and especially if there are any noteworthy developments or if additional information is needed. Open communication is key to ensuring you feel informed and confident in your pup's well-being. 

Please reach out to us to schedule a specific start date for your pup! Drops offs are scheduled on Mondays, promptly by 9am. It's crucial to adhere to this schedule to maximize training effectiveness. There is a $50 late fee for arrivals after the designated time, as punctuality is essential to ensure your pup receives the full benefit of the training session. Pick-up is also scheduled on Mondays by 9am. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in maintaining a structured and focused training environment.
